We go deep on perhaps the most controversial Animal Collective album, Danse Manatee. A product of the band's burgeoning live act, Danse was made by the same trio that created Merriweather Post Pavilion and Painting With. Beloved by some, reviled by others, this record set the tone for the group's modus operandi going forward, one characterized by experimentation, collaboration, and the relentless desire to create.
